This track has cropped up a fair bit for me recently, and lo and behold, here’s a nice edit from those lovely scratchnsniffs chaps…
The original track was sampled by J Dilla for ‘Dilla Says Go’:

“Rework of Laura Lee classic. Upped this a while back but reworked it slightly. Enjoy :)”

And let me know in the comments if you know any of the tracks…
Skeg dug in his stacks of wax once more to pull out a load of stuff that is certifiably dope but doesn’t get played much down the Breakin Bread club. This is the quality stuff that can lounge at the back of a record collection for years but should never be forgotten…
Plenty more hot jams right here:

And here’s a vid of Skratch Bastid & The Gaff cutting up 4 Freda Payne 45s to recreate JVC FORCE’s “Strong Island” beat. Taken from a practice session for their “Soul Sisters, Stand Up!” live show & recorded mix.

Didn’t even realise that Al Green did a cover of this. Been a fan of the original for as long as I can remember, this is a nice little touch up…
Following on from yesterdays post with the sample sources for Main Source’s Breaking Atoms album, and a little tip off from DJ Crump, I found myself stumbling across a right gem! Turns out, those helpful chaps over at Miscreant Creations have been busy working away to find all of the sample sources for pretty much everything the Beastie Boys have ever done..
I’ve sourced and tracked down damn near every song that has ever been sampled by the Beastie Boys from Licensed to Ill up until To The 5 Boroughs, and all points in between. This has been an ongoing project since 1998 and although it will never be 100% complete, this is probably as close as it gets. As it stands, the only ‘source’ that I wasn’t able to track down was Modern Dynamic Physical Fitness Activities by Ed Durlacher, which was sampled in Body Movin’
Yes indeeeeeed!
