The brand new video for SUAVE DEBONAIR ft. PETE CANNON single ‘Play Your Game’ released Monday 21st May.
‘Play Your Game’ is the razor-sharp new single from SUAVE DEBONAIR that dissects the carcass of a rotting relationship. The video features songwriter and bonafide ‘Bachelor’ babe Layla Manoochehri as Suave’s sinister squeeze with a nightmarish twist!

Great video for a great track!
Starting off as a Graffiti mag about a decade ago, Wordplay has recently broadened its horizon, and started to cover the music side of the UK hiphop scene. The most recent issueprovided me with some excellent entertainment on a recent long flight out to the other side of the world and back. Reminds me of reading Big Daddy cover to cover over and over again back in the day.
Not only is the mag itself high quality, with varied enough content to appeal to both the hardcore heads and casual observers alike, but if you’re quick enough to snap up a copy of the recent issue (from Fopp, or Dogfish, and possibly other cool places too) , you’ll find it includes a wicked mix CD from Sammy B-Side, expect to see a few posts in the future featuring some of the standout tracks, in my opinion…
The issue, complete with free CD, is available to buy here: http://wordplayshop.bigcartel.com/
(If you’re in the UK, you’ll get it delivered to your doorfor less than a your average pint at your local, for those overseas postage makes it a little more, but step the pint up to something like a Hoegaarden and the analogy still applies…)
For those of you who can’t get a physical copy, you can read it online here:

Para decided to do this mix after a night of watching Television , Program after program of complete irrelevant Nonsense sandwhiched between advert after advert trying thier best to sell me something we really don’t need
He turned off the TV and started working on this mix
He was initially going to make this a complete Instrumental mix but ended up dropping the odd Vocal track in there too
Its a little darker than his usual mixes but gave him the opportunity to include tracks that we really like listening to
Its a non stop continuous 60min mix and we are giving it away for free so enjoy
Para has been putting out mix CD’s since the late 90’s, he joined the Breakin Bread stable in 2007 and has put out a few 7″s a couple of mix CDs and his debut album

Brand new mix from Dan Greenpeace, an homage to DJ Yoda’s ‘Piano Breaks’ that came out in 1998
For more information visit http://www.dangreenpeace.com/
So I should probably put this into some kind of context. Back in 1998 a then fledgling bedroom DJ, Yoda, put out a mix tape called ‘Piano Breaks’ (Google it – it’s out there somewhere) using rap records that used piano samples. I was a fan as soon as I heard his early mix tapes and went on to help him release others on my Fat Lace imprint like ‘Jewbonics’ as well as our first collaboration ‘Jews Paid’, the precursor to ‘Unthugged’. So roll on some 14 years and ‘Unthugged 3D’ is about to drop but in an act of total randomness sparked by an idea seeded on a long ass flight, I decided to precede our new collab with a mix tape of my own, an homage to the original ‘Piano Breaks’. I should also add that you’ll probably point out some notable omissions but I tried not to include any tracks Yoda put on his original mix tape. Enjoy, share, doowutchyalike but leave a comment somewhere if you’re feeling it.

Bass Music Escapism is more than a music album. It’s a 16 track journey. A fucking loud journey, best made with your head placed neatly between two subwoofers, eyes closed. A journey through the raves, festivals, carnivals and stage shows of Inja’s daily routine. Into the sweet, unadulterated blast of pleasure known to us as Bass. Undoubtedly man’s finest invention since the wheel.
Inja is a bassline michelin. He cooks it, chews it up and spits it down mics into sweaty crowds most days before you’ve even thought about getting up for breakfast. His day jobs cover residencies at two of the UKs largest dubstep and drum n bass nights, he hosts the UK and World DMC championships, tours with hiphop legends Taskforce, drum n bass guru DJ Die and between June and September, will mostly be seen smashing the headline spot of legendary Chai Wallah festival stages as part of the ‘Bioviolence presents The Skuff and Inja Show’. This man don’t sleep. He performs, and loves it. And finally, with this third album release it seems his stage show presence has been swallowed. In massive mouthfuls of drum step, dubstep, drum n bass, hip hop, reggae and funk.
From the immediate dirty electronics of the albums drum step intro, Inja steps up hard in the first full length piece to mark a masterful display of cross genre hyper-activity, jumping explosively from hiphop to dubstep to drumstep in one breathe. Pure club play. For the next 6 tracks the pace remains toxic, thumping from the festival bassline anthems of Fat Love to the hiphop / drum n bass explosion of March to the lighter, more relaxed carnavelesque parties of Pepper Sauce.
The album divides at Summer of Love, a more chilled out hip hop vibe to cool down from the Summer heat. Raves over. Rain back. Time to reflect. The final four tracks get off stage, to bring a bit of the smoother, more personal musings so well received in Inja’s first two albums. From life as a new dad to neurosis to the sweet scent of dutch trees, this section is a genius addition to the live bass which will likely still be ringing in your ears as you make a dirty cup of tetleys, close your eyes and lie back.
This is a clever, diverse and reflective album by an emcee who knows how to go live, loves bass, and wants to share that basic bassline pleasure with whoever cares to listen. And unsurprisingly, it’s best heard live. The album will be touring as part the ‘Bioviolence presents The Skuff and Inja Show’ during 2012 / 13.
