  • Russian Funk – Igor DISCO – Orkester

    WHAAAAAAT?

Seriously funky Russian cover version of ‘I Can’t Stop’ by  John Davis & The Monster Orchestra.

I’ve been trying to hunt this down, but all I can find is this youtube clip..

Didn’t even realise that Al Green did a cover of this. Been a fan of the original for as long as I can remember, this is a nice little touch up…

  • Beastie Boys Sample Source Collection

Following on from yesterdays post with the sample sources for Main Source’s Breaking Atoms album, and a little tip off from DJ Crump, I found myself stumbling across a right gem! Turns out, those helpful chaps over at Miscreant Creations have been busy working away to find all of the sample sources for pretty much everything the Beastie Boys have ever done..

I’ve sourced and tracked down damn near every song that has ever been sampled by the Beastie Boys from Licensed to Ill up until To The 5 Boroughs, and all points in between. This has been an ongoing project since 1998 and although it will never be 100% complete, this is probably as close as it gets. As it stands, the only ‘source’ that I wasn’t able to track down was Modern Dynamic Physical Fitness Activities by Ed Durlacher, which was sampled in Body Movin’

    Yes indeeeeeed!

    GET IT HERE!

  • Lee Scott – Forty eight mins of fun..k

    http://soundcloud.com/lee_scott/forty-eight-mins-of-fun-k

Forty Eight minutes of 60’s beat music. For 60’s beat heads. Original 60’s beat heads of course. From stone cold funk classics and german library nipple twisters to vocal jazzers and spoken beat poetry. It’s all there in forty eight minutes of fun..k

A great mix from Cambridge’s very own Lee Scott, who I’ve had the pleasure of playing alongside at Soul 4 Soul (and will no doubt be doing so again very soon..)

Check out more from Lee here: http://soundcloud.com/lee_scott

and also keep an eye on his Play-House page if you’re into the deep house end of things, and be sure to head down to The Fountain on a Thursday, as you’ll either catch him spinning house or me spinning funk on the alternate week…
